Dairy Produce★

New Zealand is famous for dairy produce. For example, these are milk, butter, cheese and ice-cream. It is not known that Japan is essential dairy produce important country for New Zealand, and New Zealand is the second most providing country after Australia for Japan.
In New Zealand, dairy produce are very close to New Zealander. Cheese is especially eaten every day. The amount of cheese consumption a year is 7kg for each person. In Japan, it is 2 kg at most. Because New Zealand is flourishing agricultural country, we can buy cheese at New Zealand’s store for quarter price as against Japan. There are some kinds of cheese. Major types are chevre and ewe’s milk. Chevre means cheese made from goat’s milk. It smells strongly. Ewe is female sheep. Ewe’s milk cheese is made very well because there are too many sheep in New Zealand.
New Zealand’s ice-cream is especially popular among the foreigners. Unlike the Japanese one, New Zealand’s ice-cream is very mild and creamy. Sprinkling vanilla ice-cream with caramel crunchy is called horkey-pokey ice-cream. It is very famous. The amount of ice-cream consumption a year is 26 liter. It is four times Japan.
